Song of Spain | The Wild Mind Journaling Project | Day 5
Song of Spain
We rambled along stones
through plazas and alleyways
Cadaques from Barcelona
in a rented car
winding heights and
stone-templed olive trees
jeweled lights on the sea
We lit candles and pressed our toes in the sand
Chasing a ghost
We'd only heard of
in melting clocks
and seen in
kaleidoscopic memories
drinking champagne
beneath his easel
great window to unreality
soft sunlight on the sea
All the world ours, my love…
Shells and stones and poems scattered
We spent the night in a house of dreams
Laughing at madness up marble stairs
wine cooling our buttery throats
the breath of the sea
aglow in the story of time
As we welcomed the stars
Over the church bells
Our past, present, future
recasting itself
before our very souls
All the world ours, my love...
